Biography

Lisa Treadway-Kurtz joined the Abington Friends community in 2007. She serves as AFS’s Assistant Athletics Director and Department Chair of the AFS Athletics and Health/Physical Education and Wellness program. She is Dean of the 2021 AFS Class.

Lisa is currently Head Coach of Middle School Track & Field and Assistant and Co-Head Coach for the AFS Upper School Track & Field programs. She is the Friends League Cross Country Commissioner.

In high school Lisa lettered in cross-country, indoor and outdoor track & field, and with her 1984-85 Cambridge (MA) Rindge and Latin High School teammates was inducted into the Cambridge Athletics Hall of Fame (2017). She competed in track for Northeastern University and holds a master’s degree in education from Boston University.

Why Lisa coaches at AFS: “To meet student-athletes where they are and have the joy of coaching them is to individualize the experience as much as building a team with those individuals.”
