Brooklyn singer-songwriter Jean Rohe and her band, the End of the World Show, will perform a concert and conduct music workshops with students on Friday, March 10, as part of the annual Marshall Concert program. This will be the 27th year for the series, held in memory of Diana Parks Marshall and her mother, Virda Parks Marshall.

During the day, there will be a concert performance for students in grades seven through 12, and then our Upper School musicians will work with the professional musicians in chorus and instrumental workshops.

That evening, in a concert that will be open to the public, Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show will perform a more extensive repertoire of songs in the Muller Auditorium. The evening performance is being sponsored by the Abington Monthly Meeting’s Lighthouse Coffeehouse Concert series.

Described in The New York Times as “a sure-footed young songwriter,” Jean Rohe has been captivating music lovers with her narrative songs. She was lauded in The (Albany) Times Union for her “unique musical voice that sounds like a love song for a world imperiled.”

The band’s name, The End of the World Show, though sounding ominous, is actually a tribute to the musicians who played as the Titanic sank and other artists who shine a light in dark moments.

Doors of the Muller Theater will open at 7 p.m., and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are a suggested donation of $15 per person, $25 per family.
