The All Voices Family Alliance invites you to a panel discussion, Breaking the Binary: Gender Reality vs. Traditional Norms. This event will be held on Thursday, February 6 at 7 p.m.
Dr. Graciela Slesaransky-Poe is a Professor and the Former Founding Dean of the School of Education at Arcadia University. Building on her background and expertise on inclusive practices for students with disabilities, Graciela has been helping educational and community organizations, including schools and districts foster safer, more welcoming, more inclusive, and more affirming schools for gender expansive, gender non-binary, and transgender students. Her work has received several awards and recognitions, including the most recent “2017 Champion of Social Justice” award given by the PEAL Center, for her education, advocacy, and leadership.
DreLand Goar is a gifted artist working in the fields of theatre, dance, music, and poetry as a recent graduate of Bloomsburg University. He was awarded the Student Advocacy Award of LGBTQA community. DreLand plans to advance his education by completing a M.F.A in Theatre and use his career as an artist for social justice and equality amongst all people regardless of gender, race and sexual identity.
Michael Roach is a former AFS faculty member and a current graduate student at Arcadia University doing research on gender identity.
Libby Parker, MSS, LSW runs the PRIDE Clinic for Einstein Healthcare Network’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since its inception, the PRIDE Clinic has provided obstetrics, gynecology and preventive care to the LGBTQ+community in a safe environment.
