Two AFS seniors won the top prizes in the student art competition that was part of the Jenkintown Festival of the Arts this past weekend.
Competing in the high school division, Chloe Bartlett won first prize for a portrait created in pastels and Morgann Thain won second prize for his self-portrait, drawn in charcoal. Chloe was given a $100 gift certificate to the Art of Framing and Morgann was given a $50 gift certificate to Allegheny Art Co., both located in Jenkintown.
During the annual festival, the students were called to the main stage and handed their certificates. Their Upper School Art Teacher, Amy Diaz Newman, was among the first in the crowd to congratulate the students.
